I am going to new york soon and I need to be able to call Canada without it costing a lot of money from the roaming charges, would it be possible to use a prepaid calling card on a cell phone, or do they only work on landlines?

to answer your question yo sure can use prepaid calling cards on cell -phones the only thing is you get ledd minutes for the price you pay just because it is a cell phone.
now the other choice yo u have is to check with your cell phone provider and they can arrange it for you to have roaming with no extra charge.
I have verizon wireless and can make calls to canada and the usa. without extra charges so if you do not have verizon check with your provider to see what they have to offer, I hope I have answer your question and have been helpfull in your inquires.
